Offset Sheets Assistant (“the Extension”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This privacy policy explains how we handle information when you use our Chrome extension for Google Sheets.

Information and Collection use:
The Extension accesses Google Sheets data only when you explicitly use its features. We access spreadsheet content only to provide AI-powered assistance, process data locally in your browser when possible, and send data to our secure servers only for AI processing. We do not store your spreadsheet data permanently.

Google User Data Access
When you use Offset Sheets Assistant, we access certain Google user data through the Google Sheets API. This includes spreadsheet content (cell values, formulas, and formatting), sheet metadata (names, dimensions, and properties), and chart information (reading and creating charts). We also access your Google account email address for authentication purposes only.

The data we access is used solely to provide the functionality of the extension. Specifically, we use your data to analyze spreadsheet content and generate AI-powered insights, perform formatting, editing, and data manipulation at your request, create charts and visualizations, answer questions about your data, and apply formulas or calculations. We do not use your Google user data for advertising or any other unrelated purpose.

Our access is strictly limited to the spreadsheet that is currently open in your browser tab. We do not scan, list, or access any other files in your Google Drive. All access is user-initiated, meaning the extension only interacts with a spreadsheet when you explicitly choose to use it. We cannot access your spreadsheets unless they are actively open and you engage with the extension.

Permissions & Data Security:
The Extension requires permissions such as identity, tabs, sidePanel, and Google Sheets API access. The 'tabs' permission allows us to detect when you're viewing a Google Sheets document. The 'sidePanel' permission enables us to display the assistant interface as a convenient sidebar within your spreadsheet. All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption; we do not sell, trade, or share your data with third parties. Temporary processing data is deleted after use. OAuth is used for authentication; we never store your password or authentication tokens beyond the session.

User Rights, Retention, and Third-Party Services

You may revoke Extension access anytime via Google Account settings or uninstall it to stop data processing. Contact us with any privacy concerns. Children’s Privacy: The extension is not intended for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.

Changes to this Policy:
The policy may be updated occasionally. Any material changes will be notified through the Extension or email.
